AVDA provides free legal representation in family law matters to victims of domestic violence in Harris and Fort Bend county. They can assist low-income residents as well as those who make too much money to qualify for typical legal aid assistance, but not enough money to afford a quality attorney. AVDA attorneys can assist with protective orders, divorce, child support, child custody, and other family law matters.

AVOICE, a project of the Texas Legal Services Center, provides free legal representation and legal referrals to victims of violent crime. The legal services they provide include assistance with protective orders, visa applications, family law issues such as divorce or child custody, and much more.

The Houston Area Women's Center offers services for children who have been victims or witnesses of crime and who are going through court proceedings. Services include information, support, and courtroom accompaniment. Services are free of charge.

Legal Aid for Survivors of Sexual Assault (LASSA) provides legal services, community training, and educational resources. The legal services they offer range from advice to full representation.

RAICES Rural Services (formerly called Lone Star Victims Advocacy Project) provides free immigration legal services to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Their bilingual staff provide assistance with VAWA self-petitions, U Visa applications, Petitions to Remove Conditions on Residence, and other related legal services. All services are provided over the phone, by mail, or by online video conference, so clients will not need to travel in order to speak with an attorney. Services are available in certain Texas counties in Central and Northeast Texas .

The SAFE Alliance is a project from the Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace that provides legal support to survivors of domestic abuse, child abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. SAFE offers legal representation and advice in the following areas of law: family law, immigration, some additional civil issues and limited criminal law.

The Texas Advocacy Project is a statewide, nonprofit legal organization dedicated to promoting access to justice for the victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. They provide several types of legal services including a legal hotline and an assisted pro se service designed to help those who are representing themselves in court.

LSJA's Survivors' Projects offer free legal advice and assistance to survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence who are interested in seeking clemency. LSJA can assist with completing the Texas Pardons and Parole Board's pardon application for victims of human trafficking.
