Historical Federal Rules

Sources to locate historical versions of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Appellate Procedure and Evidence as well as rules for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and Texas Federal District courts.

1925–current — United States Code
Title 28 appendix contains the text of the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure, Civil Procedure, and Evidence. Previous editions of the U.S. Code are available to access from home with a library card through HeinOnline.
1969-current — Federal Practice and Procedure
The library retains current and previous editions of Federal Practice and Procedure by Charles Wright and Arthur Miller. Some volumes contain federal rules.
1982-1984 — Texas Rules of Court : State and Federal
Unannotated annual edition, published by West.
1986-current — Texas Rules of Court-Federal
Unannotated annual edition, published by West. Contains rules for the Fifth Circuit and Texas federal district courts.
1996-1999 — Texas State and Federal Local Court Rules
